The Elder Wand, Resurrection Stone, and Cloak of Invisibility were all owned by the three brothers from the famous story in Harry Potter. The Peverell brothers are known as the original owners of the Deathly Hallows. Recently, however, a new “three brothers” have been rising in the Potterhead Fandom.
Harry Potter, Tom Riddle, and Severus Snape might as well be the new three brothers, even if they aren’t related. In this blog post, I will be going over how those three could be the original brothers.
The Elder Wand has fantastical, unsurepassable power. The brother wanted the wand to bring revenge on his rival, and he wanted to be the most powerful. He thought he was invincible, and this relates to Voldemort. He wanted the wand to kill Harry Potter, his rival. He thought with the wand, the power would make him immortal. However, like the brother, he was wrong and died in the end.
The Resurrection Stone allows the user to bring back a loved one from the dead, some in the form of a spectral ghost-like projection. The brother brought back his love who died tragically before they were married, but eventually killed himself to be with her. It relates to Severus Snape. He never actually had the stone, but he died for love. His love for Lily was unrequited, yet he was eternally faithful. His death was so he would be able to return to his love Lily, even though things never worked out for him. Severus Snape embodied love, unrequited love at it’s finest.
The Cloak of Invisibility, perhaps the cleverest, most useful of the three Deathly Hallows. It allows the user to be invisible while wearing the cloak, and the brother who asked for it lived the longest. He lived until he greeted Death as an old friend, and shed his cloak to his son. Harry Potter lives this role. Not only owning the cloak since his first year, he has used it various times to help him. In the end, Harry greeted Death as an old friend. He willing came to Voldemort to die because he knew it’s what needed to happen. Harry ended up living a longer life than the other two, just like the original brothers.
Severus Snape, Harry Potter, and Voldemort are the new three brothers, and their stories will live forver. Always (sorry I had to put that).
